Life Is A Pitch.
It was a full house at the ADVANCE DAY 2015 in Cologne’s Solution Space.
Over 150 participants from across the media and digital industry joined for a day of keynotes, panels and pitches – with an opening from Medienstaatssekretär Dr. Marc Jan Eumann and Anastasia Ziegler, Managing Director of Mediencluster NRW - the organizer of the event.
Self-confessed serial entrepreneur Morten Lund spoke candidly about having it all (he was one of Skype’s first investors) and losing it all (to the extend of personal bankruptcy). Yet he still “dares to break rules” and in his ‘Morten 2.0′ life he is now super-successful again with Tradeshift. “Curiosity didn’t stop.” So he just can’t help himself but continue to start new companies. “You don’t learn when you are on top. You go all in and risk a lot. You just have to learn to not take yourself to seriously.”
The Open Pitches saw 6 startups battle it out in front of the jury. The Gaming Startup Highscore Bros. from Cologne Köln and Social Media Startup Silk&Salt from Münster emerged as Winners – and new members of The PITCH CLUB.
„The Industry Pitchmaster“ Ben Hall shared his 15 Rules of Pitching.
In a nutshell – It’s all about „People, Passion, Personality!“
Coaches and Winners of the Open Pitches at Advance Day Cologne: Ben Hall (Chalkboard TV), Peter Bickhofe (Highscore Brothers), Robert Levenhagen (Silk & Salt Tech), Romy Kraus (Entertainment Masterclass), David Bosse (Silk & Salt Tech), Stephan Jacquemot (Microsoft Ventures)
