ZE FRANK AND MICHAEL SHAMBERG TO TACKLE MOVIEMAKING IN THE ONLINE ERA

BuzzFeed Motion Pictures President Ze Frank will be joined by Oscar-nominated producer Michael Shamberg to deliver a joint keynote at MIP Digital Fronts, MIPTV’s ground-breaking online content showcase.

Frank is the driving force behind BuzzFeed’s expansive video division and a pioneer of online video. Shamberg is an advisor to BuzzFeed Motion Pictures with experience in producing innovative Hollywood movies and TV. The pair will discuss “the future of digital Hollywood” and address the exciting shifts in production and distribution that are challenging traditional TV and studio models. The keynote will take place on Tuesday 14 April at 5.45pm in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, as part of the MIPTV 2015 global entertainment content tradeshow.

FremantleMedia International CEO and Zodiak Media CEO keynote interviews by France Télévisions Director of Future Media

Eric Scherer (Director of FutureMedia, France Télévisions), expert in media, new technologies and digital trends, will open the MIPFormats Keynote Series with a presentation on the impact of digital in the TV business.

Jens Richter who was recently appointed CEO at FremantleMedia International will share his extensive knowledge and vision of current market trends and the new opportunities influenced by digital expansion.

Marc-Antoine d’Halluin (CEO, Zodiak Media) will talk in depth about Zodiak Media’s strategy for format creation and distribution following recent industry consolidation and the impact of digital disruption.

Case Studies: the Secrets of Success

Hear executives from Talpa, presenting “The Voice” and “The Big Picture”, talk about how digital helped push the boundaries of creativity;  and the creators of  “Dating Naked” and “Extreme Makeover” from Lighthearted Entertainment will explain the art of managing provocative formats.

 

The International Format Awards 2015

At this MIPTV we celebrate the début of the new partnership between C21, the Entertainment Master Class (EMC) and FRAPA to jointly present The International Format Awards. The new awards competition is designed to recognise the best in global entertainment while also generating a rich seam of content across the year. The Awards are open to any show that first went to air during 2014 and is being marketed to the international community as a format. Read the full entry criteria, which provides tips on how to submit your entry in each category.

The awards will be judged by a panel of the world’s leading format commissioners and buyers.

The awards will be presented at a gala dinner during MIPFormats on the evening of Saturday April 11 in Cannes.

MIPFORMATS INTERNATIONAL PITCH

The 2015 MIPFormats International Pitch, backed for the first time by all3media International, is open to all creators and producers from around the world to present their new and original, non-scripted entertainment formats. The winner will enjoy a €5,000 cash prize plus a value package of €15,000 for development of the pitched idea. Renowned format creator Stephen Lambert (Chief Executive, Studio Lambert) will lead the judges to select the five finalists to pitch on stage at MIPFormats on Sunday 12 April 2015.
