Ben Silverman, the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning show creator and media executive, is Chairman and Co-CEO of Propagate Content, uniting producers, creators, and advertisers to create all forms of content for distribution across a variety of platforms around the world.
Pioneering content at the forefront of the entertainment industry, Silverman has executive produced recent major network, cable, and digital platform hits, including the Golden Globe and Peabody award-winning “Jane the Virgin” at The CW, NBC’s transformative TV commerce show “Fashion Star”, “Marco Polo” and “Flaked” for Netflix, “Separation Anxiety” for TNT, “Fameless” for TruTV, and “Running Wild with Bear Grylls” on NBC. Silverman has produced feature films including “Mansome” and “Hands of Stone”, the upcoming biopic of Robert Duran starring Robert De Niro, Usher and Edgar Ramirez which just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.á
Silverman is currently producing feature film “Clemente”, the Roberto Clemente biopic. Additionally, Silverman is in production on new series’ including Apple’s just announced first ever TV show “Planet of the Apps” with Will.i.am, “Red Team” for Amazon off the best-selling book, “Isn’t That Rich” adapted by Amy Harris from Richard Kirshenbaum’s best-selling book, “Persiguiendo El Sol” produced with Latin rock star Juanes, a groundbreaking Latin cultural documentary produced with Golden Globe winning Gina Rodriguez and filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, and various other series and pilots across broadcast, cable, and digital networks. Furthermore, Silverman continues the business he pioneered by creating globally successful shows from international formats, including most recently Televisa’s “Cuna de Lobos” and “Petito Feo”, as well as RCN’s “El Café” and “La Mariposa”.
Silverman is formerly the Founder and Chairman of international production studio Electus, Co-Chairman of NBC Universal and Universal Media Studios, and Founder of Reveille where he was the executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning NBC comedy “The Office”, Golden Globe-winning comedy “Ugly Betty”, co-creator and executive producer of NBC’s hit reality show “The Biggest Loser”, and co-creator and executive producer of Showtime’s critically acclaimed series, “The Tudors”. At Reveille, Silverman leveraged relationships with the world’s top broadcasters and producers to acquire, produce, and distribute entertainment programming across all television genres. He made Reveille the leading creator of integrated marketing opportunities for advertisers and developed alternative financing paradigms for the television business. He won a series of awards across the hundreds of hours of programming he executive produced and co-created including the Peabody and Emmy award winning 9/11 documentary.
Previously, Silverman was in charge of the international packaging division at the William Morris Agency (WMA), where he was the company’s youngest division head, inventing reality television and the format packaging, distribution, and global financing deals that have made reality TV so successful and fueled the current golden age of television. In total, Silverman is responsible for more than 30 television series that encompassed over 1000 produced episodes just in his time at WMA, including “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”, “The Weakest Link”, “Big Brother”, “Fear Factor”and “Queer as Folk”.
