Danny has been involved in the entertainment industry since 1958 when he took the lead role in St.Mary’s Parochial School’s production of ‘Old King Cole’. He hasn’t looked back since!
In over twenty years, professionally, he has produced and directed for radio, television and live events. He co-created, wrote and produced BBC Radio 4’s News Quiz and, for television he rolled up his sleeves for Game For A Laugh, Surprise, Surprise, You Bet, Child’s Play, The Main Event, Going For Gold, Small Talk and many more. His programmes have appeared on every terrestrial network in the UK.
He has been proud and privileged to have produced and worked with such luminaries as you will find within these pages and he was part of the team that brought the UK’s first series of that worldwide phenomenon Pop Idol to the screens, and was also instrumental in the creation of Ant & Dec ‘s PokerFace.
He has spent time as the Director of Culture & Entertainment for a theme park in Dubai, UAE and he also now acts as consultant for corporate entities, providing such services as Executive Producer from conception to realisation through format development, scriptwriting, studio work and editing. This also covers new media output. Danny addresses conferences on the subjects of creativity and innovation, often including team-building games. He’s also a mean after-dinner speaker… although not in the literal sense!
For individuals, he provides one-to-one media training and coaching for after-dinner speaking, including the construction of the speech itself.
And, as a writer, Danny’s radio play “The Rabbits Gambit” has been heard all over the world and his musical “Alright On The Night” has wowed them in two counties! His children’s fantasy novel “Wags To Witches” is currently in progress and his stageplays “Over The Gate” (in collaboration with Nino Cirone) and the thriller “Killing Time” are the latest offerings, but he also pens comic poems, lyrics for new music and parody lyrics for existing music (copyright permitting!)
Danny can also be heard regularly as a presenter on BBC Three Counties Radio. You’ll find more on the Performance page.
