Farrell is a veteran international broadcast and new media executive, with 30 years of multi-departmental U.S. and international experience, creating hands-on general management and content solutions in programming, news, branding, marketing, sales and new media. Farrell is the Director of Development for Global Agency, where his focus is developing long-term partnerships and identifying new areas of growth for Global Agency, a leading distributor of internationally successful formats and dramas.
From 2010-2012, Farrell was Group CEO of groupOne Media and 1TV, a major independent, multi-media company and national commercial television channel in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he was based.
Farrell has provided on-site consulting in the Middle East, as well as for Kanal D in Romania, the TGRT News Channel in Turkey, and served as President of the Management Board of TV Puls in Poland, where he guided the successful re-launch of the private network.
From 2003 through 2006, Farrell developed, launched and managed the Alhurra Network’s three 24/7 Arab-language satellite news channels seen in over 28 million homes in the Mideast. Farrell has launched and managed multi-media companies and channels in Moscow, Berlin, London, Istanbul, Warsaw, Singapore and in the U.S., and has guided the development of channels in Scandinavia, the Benelux, Central Europe and the Mideast. Farrell has served as a member of the Executive Board and Nominating Committees of the International Emmys, the International Advisory Board of the Banff World Television Festival, the Honorary Committee of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, the Organizing & Planning Committee of the UN World Television Forum. He is a member and former board director of NATPE. Farrell is an Advisory Board Member of the Entertainment Master Class.
