Gergely was a participant in a children’s TV show 25 years ago in his small Hungarian hometown. From that moment, he desperately knew what he wanted to do: making television. In 1998 he started working at the Hungarian Public Television as a reporter and news editor. In 2000 he was freelancer and worked for RTL Klub Commercial Television Channel. From 2002 he specialized for realities, he was the Editor in Charge of the Survivor, Való Világ 1-3, Fear Factory 1-2, and later, he produced RTL Klub’s Morning Show. 2008 was a big turn in his life, as he moved to TV2 Commercial Television Channel, which is part of the ProSiebenSat1 Media Group. He was the producer of The Biggest Loser and later the award winner Joshi Bharat talk show, Stars Gone Crazy and The Million Pound Drop. In 2011, he won the ProSiebenSat1 AllStars Award in the Creativity-Innovation Category.
Gergely has developed an online synopsis generator tool, www.formatfactory.tv and organized a countrywide format idea contest. The best Hungarian idea was selected as the winner of P7S1’s international format contest, Brain Station 2012.
In 2012, Gergely became Chief Creative Officer of TV2. Learning is a key element in his career. He proved his talent on the fields of market analysis, program-scheduling and consulting. He has an extraordinary commitment for developing the quality of local production and all his profession. He believes Hungary can be important resource of television content. He is married with 4 children.
