Gideon Raff

Writer-Director Gideon Raff is the creator of  the Israeli series Hatufim (Prisoners of War) created, written and directed by Raff for Keshet. Prisoners of War is the highest rated drama series in israel, and won 9 Israeli emmys including Best Directing and Best Drama Series.

Raff co created (together with Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa of “24”) and is executive producing the critically acclaimed, Emmy and two time Golden Globe winner drama series Homeland,  based on Prisoners of War, starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis on Showtime. For his writing on the show, Gideon received an Emmy, a WGA Award, an Edgar Allen Poe Award as well as a Peabody award.

A graduate of the American Film Institute (2003) where he received his MFA in directing. Raff’s award winning film The Babysitter premiered at the Tribeca film festival and went on to participate in many prestigious festivals , winning several awards around the globe.

Following his studies, Raff worked as Doug Liman’s assistant, on Mr. And Mrs. Smith.

Raff’s feature directorial debut, The Killing Floor was executive produced by Doug Liman and Avi Arad (X-Men, Spiderman.) An independent,  psychological thriller, The Killing Floor has distribution in over 40 countries and was acquired by ThinkFIlm for domestic distribution.

TRAIN, Gideon’s next feature film, starring Thora Birch (American Beauty), was shot in July-August 2007. It was acquired by LIONSGATE for domestic distribution.

Raff is a bestselling author in Israel. Born in Jerusalem Israel, Raff completed his undergraduate degree in Tel Aviv University graduating magna cum laude.
