Grazyna Krupawas appointed Executive in Charge of Production with CBC TV Factual Entertainment a year ago. She is responsible for shows such as the ratings hit Battle of the Blades, Village on a Diet, the CanspellNational Spelling Bee, among others. She oversees a myriad of programs and concepts in various stages of development and is a key member of the development and programming team.
Previous to her appointment, Grazyna was an Executive Producer and Director of Development with RTR Media in Toronto. In the latter role, she developed the popular renovation series Income Property, a ratings success for both its broadcasters, HGTV Canada and HGTV US. She was also instrumental in producing and story producing the Gemini-nominated From the Ground Up with Debbie Travis on Global, and acquiring the format rights to the multi-camera extravaganza Instant Beauty Pageant for Style Network, Slice and E!, which she also series produced. Also with RTR, Grazyna produced the successful financial makeover series, Maxed Out on W.
Before jumping into the world of lifestyle and reality, Grazyna wrote, directed and produced a dozen long-form documentaries, a myriad of short-forms documentaries and investigative stories, and produced two episodes of CBC’s multi-award-winning ratings bonanza, Canada: A People’s History. In that capacity, Grazyna led large teams on elaborate multi-camera shoots including hundreds of reenactors, complex special effects, staging and compositing teams.
