Before his most recent appointment as creative director Avalon Television Factual, Ian Lamarra had founded the indies Alaska and bookhouse (a ZODIAK media company) as well as heading up development for the likes of Tiger Aspect and IWC.
As creative director and co-founder of Alaska, Ian optioned and pitched Very British Problems to Channel 4, sold Fishing Impossible to BBC Earth and ITV and created Blinging Up Baby for Channel 5 amongst four years of commissions.
At bookhouse, he optioned the podcast Do The Right Thing which he recently sold to Channel 4 as a comedy panel show pilot presented by Claudia Winkleman (produced by FIZZ) and sold and produced Shane MacGowan: A Wreck Reborn for Sky Arts amongst others.
Previously as head of development at Tiger Aspect, he oversaw the development and sale of series’ including Argumental, Britain’s Best Brain, Stephen Tompkinson’s African Balloon Adventure and Supermodel Salon with Kate Moss.
He also brought Iron Chef to the UK for Channel 4 whilst working under Adam MacDonald at IWC.
