Mark began his career in BBC TV and Radio News, as a BBC News Trainee then becoming Assistant News Editor and subsequently Features Editor of BBC North.
He left the BBC in the nineties to join the emerging UK Independent production sector first as a Series Editor, and then Controller of Development for Mentorn. He then founded the international format distribution company, Mentorn International. As Managing Director of Mentorn International he took the Robot Wars show, event and toy brand into 50 countries and launched Paradise Hotel on Fox in the USA. Mentorn International won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
Mark then established his own company, Indie TV, to create innovative US/UK format deals for the next wave of independent producers and took reality hits Brat Camp and Supernanny into the USA for Twenty Twenty and Ricochet. He was an Executive Producer of over 100 episodes of Supernanny USA on ABC.
Mark is currently CEO of Indiemedia, which owns Indie TV Ltd and Utinni Games Ltd. Indie TV’s current formats include the comedy reality series Sing Date for Sky which recently completed its second UK series. Utinni Games was nominated for the 2013 and 2014 Broadcast Digital Awards for the Facebook Game for the BBC’s Being Human and the IPad Game for ITV’s Midsomer Murders.
Mark is also non-executive Chair of C21 Media Ltd which provides the international TV and emerging tech industry with news, data and analysis.
