Class 2012

Ole was born in Oslo in 1960 and lives in Norway’s lovely capital. After spending young years on the road as a musician, he started his career in media as a local radio host in 1986, before joining NRK’s regional Oslo office in 1992. Initially working as reporter and radio host, eventually as reporter and TV news host, he ended as Head of News and Project Manager for the editorial coverage of the local political elections in 1999. By the new millennium, he moved on to NRK’s head offices as reporter and host for the national consumer show “FBI”, and became editor for the current affairs programming in NRK Factual in 2002.

Ole’s strong  interest in developing new content lead to his appointment as NRK’s first editorial Head of Development in NRK’s Factual department in 2005. Constantly searching for, and implementing development tools and methods, he was asked to join NRK’s all new Development Department when this unit was established in 2007. Ole took all his experiences and knowhow into the writing of his book “Ideutvikling I Mediehuset” (Developing ideas in the Media House), published in 2010. In 2011 he set up NRK Formats in collaboration with Digital Rights Group, bringing successes like “Never ever do this at home” and “Teenage boss” to the international marketplace. Ole also teaches at several Universities and gives Keynotes on development issues.
