Osmantan was born in Turkey  in 1973 and finished his primary and secondary education in a French school in Istanbul.  He then completed his BA in American College in London, with Honors, studying Media Production. Osmantan got his Postgraduate Degree at the University of London, Central St. Martins, in 1998 and in the 1998 – 1999 term he completed another full time program in Drama Studio  London in acting. During his education years Osmantan had already started taking every opportunity to work in various positions at the family company, STR Film Production Limited (the initials of the words Cinema, Television and Commercials) which was established in 1986 as one of the first independent TV production companiesin Turkey, mainly specialising in long running  sitcoms, soap operas, TV films, youth programs as well as commercials for the state TVand private networks.  In 1999, when Osmantan joined the company to work fulltime, he   started concentrating on international formats. The first format which was represented and produced by STR was “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” (as producer)  Its instant rating success provided STR a solid start with formats and added to its already good local reputation. Later leading format companies such as BBC, Celador, 2 Way Traffic, Target, trusted STR to represent them and produce their formats in Turkey.  Some of these world famous formats are The Weakest Link(producer), The Chair (producer&host), The Winning Lines(producer), People Versus (producer&host), Oblivious (producer), National IQ Test(producer), Double Cross (producer), Touch The Truck (producer) , Popstars (producer & host). As well as producing foreign formats Osmantan created original formats copyrighted to STR. One was a thirteen-episode folk dance competition, the biggest live TV show so far, broadcast by TRT.  “Right Here-Right Now Show”(producer & host) is another format created by Osmantan and broadcast weekly for 6 seasons. Apart from TV productions at Osmantan also produced 2 music albums both of which can be classified as alternative and archival works. Osmantan worked as the head programming consultant for Fox Turkey in the year 2008-2009. He is currently working on 3 formats including 2 originals.
