Stephen’s most recent TV role was as Controller of ITV1 Peak Time Scheduling at Europe’s largest commercial broadcaster. Prior to this he was Head of Planning and Scheduling Daytime BBC One and Two. His career began at the London Weekday ITV franchise Thames TV where he estimated ratings for the sales department. After moving to Thames’ successor Carlton TV, he was invited to be part of the Channel Five launch team, the UK’s last terrestrial TV channel. Stephen writes regularly for the UK’s trade magazine Broadcast and the national press and appears on Radio 4 and 5 commenting on all facets of broadcasting. He recently presented at a Chinese Broadcasting forum in Beijing and provides consultancy for independent producers and network broadcasters. Stephen studied politics and history at Brunel University and took a MA in International History at the London School of Economics.
