Born and raised in Singapore, Tang Yeow studied Communication Studies in Nanyang Technological University, specializing in the area of Electronic and Broadcast Media, where he graduated with honours. During the time he interned at a radio station, he wrote and co-produced the popular sports capsule “Sports On”, organized a successful promotional event and reviewed music albums.
Currently a senior script supervisor in the Chinese Drama Division, Tang Yeow is responsible for initiating story ideas for Chinese drama serials and in leading a team of writers in scripting them. Among Tang Yeow’s achievements, are his wins in the best sitcom category for “I Not Stupid-TV series” (小孩不笨) and the best script category for “Beyond the Axis of Truth II” (法医X档案II) at the Star Awards. In addition, “Beyond the Axis of Truth II” (法医X档案II) and his other sitcom “Family Combo 2” (门当户对2) were also nominated for Best Drama Serial and Best Comedy Programme at the Asian Television Awards respectively.
Besides writing for television, Tang Yeow also wrote, directed and acted in several stage plays, including adapting and acting in the “Midsummer Night’s Dream” for Practice Theatre, and adapting the British play “Beautiful Thing” into Mandarin for Toy Factory Theatre Ensemble.
