Tobias Schiwek is a serial entrepreneur and consultant for digital change of established industries. Today he is Head of UFA LAB, which is responsible for the development and execution of all new digital business models and branded entertainment activities for UFA, one of Germany’s oldest and most distinguished entertainment brands. He is part of UFA’s board and Fremantle’s global “Ignition Board”.
Tobias has caught the entrepreneurship bug early. He (co)founded diverse award winning international start-ups that raised more than 40m of venture capital. The models included Germany’s biggest music streaming service, a content aggregator for entertainment and a big data tool that helped entertainment professionals in more than 100 countries to find and engage „super fans“ by utilizing algorithms of modern network theory.
He talks frequently at universities, think tanks and international conferences such as SXSW, LeWeb or re:publica.
Since 2012 he’s been acting as a mentor and angel investor to young start-ups and consults established players in digital transformation. In 2014 he joined the Bertelsmann Entrepreneurs Program, an international executive management program sponsored by the executive board, that led him to New York from where he joined UFA in Berlin and Cologne.
Tobias has a degree in Political Science and Business Management (University of Mannheim, Germany; Università Luigi Bocconi, Milan, Italy). He’s a passionate fan of football (Kaiserslautern) and an even more passionate father of two boys and a girl.
